Celebration of World Environment Day (5th Jun, 2012)
Dedicated volunteers of our NGO performed an extremely commendable job during the World Environment Day. The team took initiative to clean Rajokari Forest, located at New Delhi.
It is sad to share that tons of garbage is getting dumped every day in this forest. On the top of it hundreds of innocent cows can be seen eating toxic garbage in this forest.
It is to be noted that if the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Ministry of Tourism, or other concerned departments take serious initiative, all the forests in India can be converted into beautiful national parks or sanctuaries, such as Jim Corbett National Park.
These forests can be turned into a paradise by maintaining its green cover. It would not only give a new place for excursions, but will also generate employment opportunities. In addition, it would be beneficial for the Department of Tourism to collect revenue through community welfare while preserving the ecosystem.
World Anti Tobacco Day (31st May, 2012):-
On The World Anti Tobacco Day, The Earth Saviours Foundation organised a camp to enlighten people about the dangers of tobacco consumption.
The renowned homeopath, Doctor Fahim Khan graced the ocassin and very effectively counselled people who wished to quit smoking. The founder and director of The Earth Saviours Foundation, Mr Ravi Kalra pledged to make the city free of tobacco addiction on the occasion of "World Anti Tobacco Day"
Campaign to Save Forest on the Earth Day (20th April, 2012):-
On the occasion of the Earth Day our NGO's vigilant team organized a massive campaign to save the dying forests in India. During the campaign students from Agamya Institute of Education, Holy Child Auxilium School and Ryan International School performed a “Nukkar Natak” (street play) to create public awareness to save our existing forests. The forest land in India is rapidly getting destroyed by the land mafia. Trees are being chopped, water bodies are poisoned and tons of garbage is being dumped in the forests on daily basis.
In absence of fencing around any of the forests in India and there is no safety for the handful of animals. Illegal construction of roads, temples and slums are mushrooming. Furthermore, illegal mining occurs on a regular basis in some forests. Such activities poses a major threat to our ecosystem and survival of human life. The volunteers of The Earth Saviours Foundation constantly highlight some of the following main issues:-
1) Danger to our ecosystem.
2) Cause of natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis and landslides.
3) Increasing air and noise pollution.
4) Need for recycling and waste management.
5) Need to implement renewable sources of energy.
6) Need to save animals and natural resources.
7) Deforestation and the drinking water crisis.
8) Global warming.
