Sh. Ravi Kalra

Ravi Kalra (Karma Yogi)

Sh. Ravi Kalra was a well-known Karma Yogi, world traveller, social activist and environmentalist and the main driving force behind the establishment of our NGO, The Earth Saviours Foundation (T.E.S.F). He was a strong advocate of welfare and protection of the differently abled, elderly, impoverished women and animals. In 2019 he was awarded the National Award by the Vice President of India Sh. Venkaiah Naidu ji, for his outstanding work towards the welfare of abandoned and disabled people. He also received the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international Prestigious Award for Excellence in selfless humanitarian services.

In 2008, Mr. Ravi Kalra’s vision for community, animal and environmental welfare came to life, with the establishment of his own non-profit, The Earth Saviours Foundation (T.E.S.F). He will always be the founder of this nobal organisation, which is an internationally recognized non-profit. Ravi Kalra was also known as the “No Honking Man of India” as he was the first Indian to launch the ‘Do Not Honk’ campaign. The campaign focuses on reducing and controlling noise pollution which is caused by vehicular honking. The campaign, under his guidance, holds the world record for pasting more than one lakh Do Not Honk stickers on the bumpers of vehicles.

He was the only non-priest in the world due to his project Karmic seva which is responsible for the cremation of more than 8000 unclaimed and unidentified dead bodies at the electric cremation centers. These unidentified bodies are located and brought to the cremation center by the law enforcement authorities, at the centre, Ravi Kalra offered essential crematorium services and performs the cremation ceremony.

Besides The Earth Saviours Foundation, Ravi Kalra had many other initiatives and organisations, which work for a diverse number of social causes and issues. Some of these initiatives by Ravi Kalra (The One - Man Army), are as follows:

  • He was the president of “The Indian Amateur Taekwondo Federation", while undertaking this role, he had initiated, oriented, trained, and taught numerous national teams across various countries.
  • He was the proud recipient of the 4th Dan Black Belt and International Master-Instructor in taekwondo Martial Arts, making him a qualified martial artist and instructor. In 2009, due to his impressive history as a martial artist he was able to hold unarmed combat classes for school children and soldiers that were posted in different regiments and battalions. These classes were completely free of charge, were conducted in accordance with various safety measures and were open to all school children and soldiers in training.

Ravi Kalra was engaged in the battle of saving our Indian forests and has even filed a PIL (Public interest Litigation) for saving the forest and its habitats in the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.

Shri Ravi Kalra in his long and motivational journey of building The Earth Saviours Foundation, taught many youngsters and children the value and importance of women empowerment, environmental conservation, respecting the elderly and treating the mentally and physically disabled as equal members of the Indian society. Due to his efforts, The Earth Saviours Foundation has helped countless families and animals in rebuilding their lives.

Our founder worked tremendously hard every day ensuring that The Earth Saviours Foundation is always present to fight battles against cruelty and abuse faced by the underprivileged. His efforts, work and service to society will live in the hearts of all of us. He was a ray of sunshine in the dark, whose legacy will live on and our entire team, keeping his efforts and ideals of social service, will work tirelessly for the poor and underprivileged, giving new homes to lost souls, everyday.
